Location: India (remote is fine)
Key Responsibilities
- Architect and Optimize Neural Networks
- Design, fine-tune, and validate advanced neural network architectures using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Apply deep learning models to healthcare-specific use cases such as medical imaging analysis, clinical text mining, patient risk stratification, and predictive modeling for treatment outcomes.
- Ensure models are explainable and compliant with healthcare standards (e.g., HIPAA, GDPR).
- Unstructured Data Extraction & Pipeline Development
- Build robust pipelines to extract and preprocess unstructured healthcare data from clinical notes, lab reports, prescriptions, and medical PDFs.
- Enable downstream applications including Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG) systems for clinical decision support and knowledge retrieval.
- Ensure data pipelines are scalable, secure, and optimized for sensitive patient information.
- Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA)
- Perform in-depth exploration, cleaning, and feature engineering on diverse healthcare datasets (claims, EHRs, imaging, genomics).
- Use libraries like pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn to translate raw data into actionable insights for population health management, cost optimization, and quality-of-care improvement.
- Collaborate with clinicians and healthcare business teams to contextualize findings.
- Hybrid ML Solutions
- Combine traditional ML techniques (regression, clustering, survival analysis) with modern approaches (transformer architectures, NLP, multimodal learning).
- Deliver state-of-the-art solutions for predictive analytics, patient engagement, fraud detection, and operational efficiency in healthcare organizations.
- Integrate models into production environments with a focus on scalability and real-world impact.
Qualifications & Skills
- Strong hands-on experience in Python with proven expertise in building and deploying data science solutions in healthcare or regulated industries.
- Demonstrated track record in designing and implementing neural network architectures and deep learning workflows using PyTorch/TensorFlow.
- Solid grasp of traditional ML algorithms (e.g., SVM, regression, clustering) and modern NLP techniques (e.g., BERT, GPT, Transformers) applied to clinical text and patient communication data.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and containerization tools (Docker) for collaborative and reproducible workflows.
- Advanced degree (Masters/PhD) in Computer Science, Data Science, or related fields preferred; equivalent industry experience in healthcare data science is highly valued.
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR), compliance frameworks (HIPAA, GDPR), and interoperability challenges is a plus.
